spring (government, soul, and apartment) cleaning

I was recently thinking about how many people do what is called spring cleaning. For some, this is an annual ritual that includes thorough deep cleaning of their residences. After pondering our apartment needs some spring cleaning, I thought that our souls need some spring cleaning too (just as deep, but maybe not just annually). Maybe we should take stock of ourselves, find where we are wanting, and clean out all the gunk and muck and sin that we collect. Maybe we should apply Christ's Atonement more often and more completely. Maybe then we could better serve our relations, our associates, and our country. And speaking of our country, maybe we shouldn't just express our distaste with those in government, but maybe we should do some "spring cleaning" and vote in more liberty-minded and Constitution-protection people to those ruling bodies. Just a thought.

Can we hold on to it?

I've been thinking that the only true way we can live with liberty and prosperity in America is to be living right. There is a moral code that God gives his children and we in America cannot live the way we want to (doing what is good and enjoying the fruits of our labors), unless we are living right as a nation. So, not only should we be reforming the way we do things in Washington, but we should be reforming how we treat our families and communities.

My Paper

I recently wrote a paper about how New Natural Law could provide a defense for the traditional family. A link to the paper is here. The paper isn't perfect, but it is a suggested start for research and a pretty sophisticated defense. Please support the Ruth Institute if you get a chance; they are all about preserving the traditional family.
